Raising a special needs child
in NICU Moms
June 06 2022
I’m a NICU Mom, my daughter was born with an omphalocele. She spent 15 days in the NICU mainly because of her O. She was only on oxygen for a two days but she did have to have a feeding tube for a week. We take care of her omphalocele at home now & she won’t be able to have surgery until she’s 1-2 years old to repair her abdominal walls. Her omphalocele is healing amazing & in just a little over 3 months it’s almost completely healed over & back under her skin.
NICU is tough tho...not coming home with baby that first night is heartbreaking!! 💔😢 But our hospital also had NIC View which was cameras you could watch your baby on while you weren’t there! That helped alot! Prayers to all NICU Mommas out that! Stay strong! 🙏🏻💪🏻💕

congrats on your beautiful baby! I hear you on the NICU being tough. my experience was only a week in there but it was hard seeing others go home with babies and I couldn’t.
